* The starch found in potatoes is easily digested, and for that reason potatoes are especially good for athletes.

* Potatoes contain fibre - especially if eaten with the skin. Fibre is essential for good digestion and helps prevent diseases of the digestive system.

* Potatoes are rich in vitamin C and also the B-complex vitamins. They are a good source of potassium (which prevents muscle cramps), and also contain magnesium, phosphorus & iron.

* Potatoes contain only 0,1% fat.
